I have the slider working but the text excerpt loses all formatting. here is a link showing what I mean. The first line is a h2 heading, but none of the formattting shows, bold, italics etc.

also, when the slider shrinks down below a certain size, the text disappears leaving image only, is there a way to fix this?
    thanks

WordPress removes all formatting from excerpts.

You can add it back using this code:

When you use excerpt, the code strips HTML formatting. You can follow Brad’s instructions on assisting with this – http://wpsites.net/wordpress-tips/add-back-html-tags-stripped-from-content-limit-excerpts-in-wordpress/.

For the text in the slider disappearing, check the Genesis Responsive Slider mobile settings. There are settings in there that control what you see on mobile devices.

    Brad,

I added your code to the “functions.php” file and also added the “<p>” tag in the allowable tags and still, WP seems to want to remove the <p> tag when it displays the snippet in the slider. Am I doing something wrong?

    Many thanks,
    Houston

Not sure but you could try another slider if its a problem.

Soliloquy, Easing Slider, Slidedeck and Nivo are all good in my opinion.

Different sliders are good for different solutions.
