I am customizing the sample theme. I tried out what I want on a demo site and have installed the same stylesheet and templates on my site now.
The Simple social icons did not show on my site (show gibberish), even though they display well on the demo. I thought this could have been because of the Testimonial for WP plugin. The only other active plugins are Maintenance mode, Easy Captcha, Yoast SEo and Wordfence.
The 'G' icon that appears next to the Genesis link on the Dashboard sidebar also shows gibberish. I deleted both the testimonial plugin and the simple social plugin and ensured that those folders do not exist on the server.
But the 'G' is still not visible. What could be the reason for this? Not seeing the 'G' does not hamper me, but I fear this might be an indication of other problems that might prop up, or something that I cannot see right now. I have about 300 pages on my site so hard to check each and every one.
Has anyone seen this issue before...any idea what is wrong here?
My site is currently in dev so can't give a link..I am uploading a screenshot to another of my live sites and giving that link below.
Appreciate your support! thanks...

June 21, 2014 at 9:28 am #110952SusanModeratorWhile I understand that you can't show the site's URL, without being able to view the site on different computers and in different browsers, it is hard to offer a suggestion.
Are you having the same issue with ALL plugins deactivated, and on ALL browsers, ALL computers?
I know there are sometimes issues with it when viewing on Firefox. Try this:

Thanks for your response..I have the problem on all browsers and all computers for this site. But no problems on my test site which is the same installation essentially. Both are on the same web server.
I tried the .htaccess modifications given in the link and they did not make any difference. Some font or class is not being called.
As I said above, I am not that worried about the plugin not working..i will just not use it for now..But more concerned about the 'G' symbol for the Genesis framework. I see the same weird symbols on IE, Chrome and Firefox. ( this is a Dashboard thing and not seen anywhere on the actual site).
I am going to make my site live today, just hoping that no other serious issues crop up because of this..
I guess I will be reporting back in case of more issues.. thanks much for taking the time to respond and for your help. Really appreciate it! 🙂
