    You may not be able to see it well but if you mouse over above the logo you’ll see the date. I don’t want the date there or even the entire top nav which also displays RSS icons at the right.

    This is the top nav PHP file and I’m not a PHP guy at all. Can I simply delete the entire topnav.php file? This is the code:

    <div id=”topnav”>
    <div class=”topnav-left”>
    <p><?php echo date_i18n( get_option( ‘date_format’ ) ); ?></p>
    </div><!– end .topnav-left –>
    <div class=”topnav-right”>
    <p>
    ” rel=”nofollow”><?php _e(“Posts”, ‘genesis’); ?>
    ” rel=”nofollow”><?php _e(“Comments”, ‘genesis’); ?>
    </p>
    </div><!– end .topnav-right –>
    </div><!– end #topnav –>

    You can do it through CSS. There are probably better ways but this should work.
    At line 56 of your style.css you have

    #topnav {
        color: #FFFFFF;
        font-family: Arial,Tahoma,Verdana;
        font-size: 14px;
        height: 40px;
        margin: 0 auto;
        padding: 0;
        width: 960px;
    }

    If you add
    display: none;
    after width: 960px;
    that should do it.
