The link I had bookmarked for the old forum now takes me to the my.studiopress login page.
Has access to the old forum now been stopped?
July 8, 2013 at 3:33 am #49767RobGMemberAs far as I know the old forums are no longer available..
To speed up the process please post the link to the website in question.

It was a gold mine of information and was the first port of call when I was looking for solutions for specific themes.
Unless the info has been saved elsewhere, that's a shocking waste of a genuinely valuable resource.

Last month, a notice was posted indicating that the old forum would be closed on July 1.
A lot of the information was outdated.

In what way, Susan?
Most of the information was still very relevant and was a fantastic resource for anyone looking for solutions to theme specific issues.
I appreciate 2.0 is on its way but not every theme will get the update treatment, or at least not straight away and to replicate the amount of info that was in the old forum here in the new forum is not looking good. Taking a look at your unanswered posts link there are 187 unanswered posts in the past 2 months. I bet a large proportion of those posts could have been answered by making people aware of the information held in the old theme specific forum.
However, I wont get on my soap box about the effectiveness of the new system as Nick appears to take umbridge with anyone with an opinion of it. Or, maybe just mine 🙂

As you are probably aware, I'm not a StudioPress employee; I'm a volunteer here, so anything I say is my opinion (there's my disclaimer...) I'm also not a developer, and am not involved in coding themes, so I don't pay attention to all the change logs...
When Genesis 1.9 came out, the method of doing the Grid Loop changed, as did coding for custom headers and backgrounds, for example. Those changes in themselves were pretty significant, and I'm sure that earlier changes to the framework made many other posts obsolete.
I agree that when Genesis 2.0 comes out, all the old themes aren't going to go away or be update immediately, but anyone who has purchased Genesis since November of last year didn't have access to the new forums anyway, so even sending someone there as a suggestion wasn't always viable.
Having said that - I miss not being able to go there to check for an answer, especially for some of the marketplace themes. I'm not denying that.
Yes, we have a lot of unanswered posts. Do you know why we have a lot of unanswered posts? Because this is a community forum - it's driven by the users. Who are the users? Anyone who has every purchased the Genesis framework. That's many thousands of people, but how many people do you think come here to provide support and answer questions? I can confidently say that less than 0.1% of Genesis users who are here on a regular basis answering questions. Those who do provide support have other commitments - we're not sitting here all day waiting to answer questions. As I wrote earlier, I'm not a developer, so there's a lot of those unanswered questions that I just don't know the answer to, so wouldn't even attempt to answer.
For this forum to thrive and be what people think it should be, or hope it will be, we need more people willing to give a little of their time, and you know what? It's fun!
