    Here’s the site-

    http://thevaperstable.com/

    Issue 1-
    For some reason when I click on the “About Chalfant” tab (on the top navigation) after it loads it does NOT show the tab as highlighted. This is what I want on ALL the tabs both top nav and bottom nav but I cannot see why it only works on this one tab. Anyone know?

    Issue 2-
    If you look closely at the header the pic area on the left is slightly off kilter with the aligning border. It’s just a tad to the left and won’t line up correctly.
    Is it just a matter of fiddling with the header size to get it to align correctly?

    Thanks much in advance.

    I think I have resolved the second issue myself.

    BUT the first issue is still a problem.
    Any assistance will be appreciated

    Hi there, you’ve a maintenance mode plugin turned on which prevents anyone from seeing your site. If you can disable that, someone might be able to help with that first issue.

    Cheers!

    It looks like you have a stray Page somewhere. The menu item is supposed to point to /about-me/ but when you click that, what loads is /about-me-2/.

    Check the Trash on your Pages & Posts. Make sure another page / post with the same title is not in there. Delete it from the Trash if so. (It’s good practice to not leave things in Trash anyway because of just this sort of conflict.)

    Once you know there is no other object with that title, edit the slug on your About Me page so it’s not about-me-2. Save it & view the page again. You should see the menu recognize that page as the current menu item. If it doesn’t, after all that, Edit your main menu. Delete the old menu item & add back in that Page.

    Cheers!

    OK, I did that and there was a lot of trash; all gone now :)

    Now the About Charles tab also displays highlighted when you land on the page.

    Is this changable do you know? Can I rid the tabs from displying highlighted?

    Thanks for everything……

    Hi there,

    You can – you’ll need to edit your theme’s style.css file. If you have something like this:

    .menu-primary li a:active,
    .menu-primary li a:hover,
    .menu-primary li:hover a,
    .menu-primary .current_page_item a,
    .menu-primary .current-cat a,
    .menu-primary .current-menu-item a,
    .menu-secondary li a:active,
    .menu-secondary li a:hover,
    .menu-secondary li:hover a,
    .menu-secondary .current_page_item a,
    .menu-secondary .current-cat a,
    .menu-secondary .current-menu-item a,
    #header .menu li a:active,
    #header .menu li a:hover,
    #header .menu li:hover a,
    #header .menu .current_page_item a,
    #header .menu .current-cat a,
    #header .menu .current-menu-item a {
    	background-color: #fff;
    	color: #ed702b;
    }

    Remove the lines that contain current-menu-item in them so it looks something like this:

    .menu-primary li a:active,
    .menu-primary li a:hover,
    .menu-primary li:hover a,
    .menu-secondary li a:active,
    .menu-secondary li a:hover,
    .menu-secondary li:hover a,
    #header .menu li a:active,
    #header .menu li a:hover,
    #header .menu li:hover a {
    	background-color: #fff;
    	color: #ed702b;
    }

    Well, thank you so kindly sir! You’re a wiz.
    This assistance is greatly appreciated.

    It sure can be frustrating creating a site when you have little knowledge but you just gotta love StudioPress and all the great people here……..

    Not that many will read this but thank you on behalf of everyone who comes here for answers
