I’m using the Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin to customize some sidebars for a client. I noticed that it only replaced the top, wide portion of the sidebar. (I am using Blissful sidebar moved over into Prose.) The split sidebars and the bottom wide sidebar are still showing on pages where we’ve customized the sidebars using the plugin.
I hid the split & bottom parts of the sidebar on pages, tag archives, and category archives, but the single posts are still showing the unwanted sidebar areas. Is there a way to hide these sidebars when it’s a single page in a specific category?
Here’s the site in question: http://kosheronabudget.com
Sidebars are correct for the custom page here: http://kosheronabudget.com/passover/
Sidebars are correct for the tag page here: http://kosheronabudget.com/tag/passover-recipes/
Sidebars are correct for the category page here: http://kosheronabudget.com/category/passover/
Sidebars are NOT correct for single posts in the Passover category like here: http://kosheronabudget.com/farberware-classic-17-piece-kitchen-set-16-93-lowest-price/ (Everything from The Jewish Dave Ramsey Story & Mabel’s Labels on down should not be there.)
Change the custom sidebars on each single post edit screen manually to any custom sidebar you want using the Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin.
You can also use conditional tags in the Widget Logic plugin to display specific widgets in a custom sidebar based on conditions.
Did this help?
I did end up going with the combination of Genesis Simple Sidebars and Widget Logic. Thanks!
