Eleven40 consists of blog page as a home page...I want some kind of homepage like in the magazine theme which has slider in it...A section for individual categories....
Will anyone explain how to do it ???
Following Nick's tutorial here:
or Brian's tutorial here:
You can add a number of widgeted areas to your home.php file, and then fill the widgeted areas with a slider, featured posts/pages widgets etc.
I have added welcome text widget but I want all page as to be widgetised ???
alright.. so I have followed as from the blog but all widget areas are appearing on all over the blog.. Fronm blog page to everywhere...I just want it on my home page...
How do I ???
you'll need to add the widgets to the home page by creating a function and using the conditional is_home().
more info can be found here: Greg Rickaby Code Snippets. search that page for Create a custom homepage using home.php and you can also follow the link that's right there where he goes more in depth in creating the custom page.
ok.. so I have almost done so by following a tutorial where I got the ready material..
basically the widgets I have added are in vertical grid loop with same width manner whereas I want some different layout (as shown in attached png.)

after resizing windows unlike all widgets this widgets are changing it's dimensions rather changing positions !!!
