Something weird happened and now there’s a permalink on my Home Page that didn’t used to be there and I want it to go away. And, since I’m asking you all who are so much smarter at this than me, I’m gonna also ask for a better way to place my graphic on the Home Page.
First Question: I posted a graphic using a post. The permalink is where the headline would be, but I didn’t put a headline in as I didn’t want a headline, just the graphic. When you go to site you’ll see what I mean. It’s at the top of the 2-col content section of the Home Page of senseofplacepress.com. It doesn’t show up on the post page itself, only on the Home Page. The permalink didn’t use to be there, but now it is. How do I make it go away?
Question Two: I only knew how to put the graphic into a post in order to get that graphic right there at the top of the Home Page. Is there a way to put it there and NOT use a post? If I saved it to my server as a graphic and then coded into the RSS, would that work or be better? Or is that getting complex?
Thanks for the help!
If you ever want to show a post without a title – then install the Genesis Title Toggle Plugin (http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-title-toggle/). When you add a post without a title, you will see that permalink – so using the plugin – you can check the box on your post so it doesn’t show up.
To add an image to one of your widget areas – I use the Image Widget (http://wordpress.org/plugins/image-widget/). You can add an image, caption and a link to it if you need to.
