    I’m trying to add a full width sidebar to the home page but cant seem to get it to sow anything I place inside of it.

    I can see the area on the homepage but when I add a text widget to it with plain text to test it, it doesn’t render anything.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Here’s what I’ve done…

    Added this to functions.php

    genesis_register_sidebar( array(
        'id'                        => 'full-width-content-slider',
        'name' => 'Full Width Content Slider',
        'description' => 'This is a full width sidebar for the home page.',
    ) );

    I added this to the genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap hook using the simple hooks plug-in

    <div class="full-width-content-slider">
        <?php dynamic_sidebar( 'full-width-content-slider' ); ?>
    </div>

    I added this to the CSS

    .full-width-content-slider {
        clear: both;
        margin: 0 auto;
        width: 900px;
        height:200px;
        border:solid 1px;
    }

    I got the instructions from Nicks website below, which is very clear on what to do but… I must be missing something.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Try this:

    Change the hook to change the position of the widget.
