Hello I am using the Education theme and would like to add a Home featured middle and home featured bottom to the site just as one of the showcase sites http://www.victoriachamber.org/ Right now if ONLY comes with home featured top Can somebody direct me on what I'd need to do in order to add this.
Thank you.

Did you want to display posts on the front page?
Otherwise, you'll need to code your home page template.

Now I can look at it and work backwards. Before I jump in though let me make sure I am clear. I am placing the first box of code in the functions,php....I assume at the bottom will be fine. And then the second box of code in the home.php file....somewhere after home featured section, correct???
And then to answer your question I do not want to display posts on the home page so will any of that code take care of that or is there something more I should do??
Thanks again, you are awesome!!!!

BUT now,
I just pasted the code and got a parse error on line 61
Here's the site....http://rebuild.rc4u.biz/welcome/
I'm going in now to see if I can figure it out since I did paste the raw code.
December 30, 2013 at 4:58 am #82005Brad DaltonParticipantThe first code block goes at the end of your child themes functions file
The 2nd is the entire home.php file so simply replace the entire file with this new code.
Tested locally and works.
Send me an email and i'll reply you with the file. [email protected]
December 30, 2013 at 5:27 am #82010calendargirlParticipantGot it...and it did work. However, I wanted to retain the sidebar on the side of the slider so I removed this out of the code you sent ..... add_action( 'genesis_meta', 'education_home_middle_bottom_widgets' );
Now it looks a little funky at the bottom....I don't want the sidebar that is appearing at the bottom. I only want the home bottom showing up...
Remember i am trying to make http://rebuild.rc4u.biz/welcome/ look similar to the set-up of http://www.victoriachamber.org/
Can you tell what I've done wrong?
Thanks
December 30, 2013 at 5:50 am #82014Brad DaltonParticipantLine 60 of your home.php file contains this code which you can remove.
add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' );
December 30, 2013 at 6:13 am #82015calendargirlParticipantI made a mistake...sorry...
I'd actually removed the code you just mentioned and left the add_action( ‘genesis_meta’, ‘education_home_middle_bottom_widgets’ ); That did give me the full screen so that I had the sidebar next to the slider BUT I still have a sidebar at the bottom...not sure what it is attached to... I think it is saying content- sidebar wrap

The thing is I cannot figured out wich css class to apply for getting the "featuredh-top" part to be in columns (2 columns of 50% each)
Can u help me with that? -
