I'm working on a site (http://brittanyestes.com) and can't figure out how to add navigation to the bottom of the main page. I've added Genesis - Featured Posts to the Home area via the Widget section. I've noticed there is no way to get to any posts from the main page (main page meaning when you actually land on http://brittanyestes.com). I've probably not set it up correctly, as I'd like it to function like this blog: http://ragstostichesblog.com where the main page shows snippets of the last 10 posts published (roughly) and then underneath the last snippet have navigation links to get to more posts (that are still set up as snippets).
I think I'm probably making this harder than it is, but I just can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.
February 10, 2013 at 1:54 pm #19417AnitaKeymasterYou need to drag the Featured Posts that you want over into the areas you want them it. Then you need to set the category (if you want a specific category) to show up. All of the settings are in the widget for Featured Posts. Tell it how many posts you want shown and then you also can see where you need to have the Read More. Looks like she has about 10 or so blogs showing there - so set it to 10.

February 10, 2013 at 2:22 pm #19427skichic95MemberI know how to do that, as I've already done that. But if you'll look at the blog in which I referenced as an example (http://ragstostitchesblog.com), at the bottom of the posts she has displayed, there is a navigation area that allows you to keep clicking through to her previous posts (all still shown in snippets instead of the full post once you click on like page 2, 3, 4 etc.). That's the part I don't understand. How do I get the navigation to show up on this blog (http://brittanyestes.com) as there is no way to navigate to anything else at the bottom of the posts shown.
February 10, 2013 at 2:32 pm #19435AnitaKeymasterShe has her "blog" page set as her home page and that's why she has the navigation. You need to go to Settings > Reading and set your page to your blog page. Then go to Genesis > Theme Settings. Scroll down and you will see the page navigation settings. It's a dropdown.

February 10, 2013 at 2:34 pm #19436skichic95MemberSo, do I have to create anything special to make it a "blog" page? I think this is what is confusing me. Is there a tutorial on this?
February 10, 2013 at 2:39 pm #19437AnitaKeymasterCreate a new page called, let's say "Blog" - look on the right and change the Template to blog. Then save it. Then add that page as your static home page.

February 10, 2013 at 2:42 pm #19438skichic95MemberOkay, I did that. Now how do I get it to only show snippets of the posts with the thumbnail images like what shows up on the Genesis Featured Posts widget plus showing the navigation at the bottom?
February 10, 2013 at 2:44 pm #19441skichic95Membernever mind, I figured it out! Thanks so much anitac!!
February 10, 2013 at 2:48 pm #19443skichic95Memberwell, crap...it won't go past the page 2 blog posts...what did I do wrong? I went into the genesis theme settings and told it to do excerpts etc and to use the older posts link, but now it's not going past page 2
February 10, 2013 at 2:54 pm #19445AnitaKeymasterGo to Reading > Settings and change it there too.

February 10, 2013 at 2:57 pm #19446skichic95MemberI've got Reading set to display 10 posts, I've got it set to static page set to blog. It's showing 10 posts when you go to the site. But when you click on page 2, 3, 4, etc, it's still page 1 posts, it's not showing any other previous posts. What do I need to change?
