    Hi there,

I am new to wordpress. I have searched a lot on an issue, that how should I edit my home page layout? I want two columns in the content area along with a image slider just below the header. Right now, it is just showing a simple blog layout. I am using Genesis framework on my website with a Copyblogger child theme. I used firebug extension on firefox browser to edit through css, but another problem persisted, the css tab in the right panel is not showing the line numbers. So, I am unable to edit it. May be this is a silly question to ask, please help me!

Copy this code from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php using a code editor like Notepad++.

You can use a new static page as your home page.

Go to Settings > Reading and select the new page as your home page.

Paste this code into your WordPress editor to create 2 columns. http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/content-column-classes/
