I’m confused about this issue. I have tried the “display: none”, but I lose my header. I am a total newbie with CSS.
I need to hide the site description/tagline without losing any SEO benifits. Moving it off screen or behind the header logo doesn’t seem particularly professional.

    Can anyone help?

You could edit the class .site-description on the style.css with attribute display:none (not the class site-header as you did before).

Thanks Winterburn – works well. Yes, I see now where I went wrong.
