Let me preface by saying I'm a little bit of a HTML/CSS rookie.
I'm using the Parallax child theme. I would like to increase the full-page width of pages and post, but I'm unsure what is the easiest way of doing so. I saw this post, but I'm not sure how to make that happen.
http://www.studiopress.community/topic/parallax-page-width/According to Firebug, my widths of
body.page is 1663 wide.
div.site-inner is 1140 wide
main.content is 740 wide with 200px left and right padding
article.p...nt-entry is 740 side with no paddingIs there danger of increasing the page width and keeping it responsive?

It's at line 1289 of you style. Just the left/right property (currently 200px).
That won't change it responding although you might want to check the padding for media queries. It currently has no padding at all for max width 960px (line 1889).
.full-width-content .content {
padding: 0 200px 50px;
width: 100%;
}PS you can see how your site is responding by re-sizing your browser window width.

Is there a way I can edit that line right in WordPress through a widget or something? I really don't want to edit the file in Notepad or something and try to FTP it in. I'm a rookie and that makes me nervous! : )

I use SublimeText2 which has an ftp plugin which allows me to load the files directly using ftp and when I save it uploads my changes. Then if something doesn't work I can undo changes and re-save.
I also will use the inspect element feature of Chrome or Firebug (for Firefox) to try changes I'm not sure of. That way I can see my edits live in my browser before actually updating my css.

So far I have been "cowboy editing" thru WordPress and it makes me nervous! Thanks for point out SublimeText2. I'm going to go that route as well.
How do you undo a file? Do you save functions.php locally with a date and save a new file every time you make a change so that you have a copy to go back to?
What FTP Plugin do you use to coordinate the ST2 and WordPress?
Thanks again!

I should say you can only undo as long as the file is open with ctrl or command + Z.
