In this site showcasing pieces of art, a custom field for Artist Name creates a link to that name via WordPress’ search.
Example: Artist: Zoe Mozert name/link in the following page:
The effect of this is to use WordPress’ search engine to search for “Zoe Mozert”. This basically returns pages which mention “Zoe Mozert” which are not always relevant.
The client wants the link to go to the Zoe Mozert tag page, which only returns artwork by Zoe Mozert:
One way to do this would be to add a second custom field that gives the tag slug, in this case “zoe-mozert”. But this is a “converted from a legacy site” situation with over 300+ artworks in there, so there would need to be a retroactive adding of Tag Slugs to articles.
The question is therefore, is there a PHP way to take the Tag Name that is already entered, ie. “Zoe Mozert”, and redirect a link from that to its tag page? Or is retroactive adding of Tag Slugs to articles my future?
