    Using the Genesis Simple Edit plugin, I am able to remove the post meta information. But it seems it just hide the information as the space is still there on my blog static page where posts get updated in reverse chronological order. Anyone knows how to delete the blank space for post meta?

    Also it is extremely great if you could share sth on how to shrink each post entry width as I wanna accommodate more posts within one page. I have already added “more” tag in my post content and only a small excerpt is shown for each post entry on my blog static page.

    Thank you so much:)

    Can you post your website url to understand what is causing extra space?

    add this to functions.php if you’re using a html5 theme, if not the snippets are here > http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-meta/

    //* Remove the entry footer markup (requires HTML5 theme support)
    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_open', 5 );
    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_close', 15 );
    //* Remove the entry meta in the entry footer (requires HTML5 theme support)
    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_post_meta' );

    Dear Chillybin

    Thank you so much for your prompt response.

    When I add the following codes to my child theme functions.php, I get HTTP 500 internal error.

    //* Remove the entry footer markup (requires HTML5 theme support)
    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_open', 5 );
    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_close', 15 );
    //* Remove the entry meta in the entry footer (requires HTML5 theme support)
    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_post_meta' );

    And the following code does not influence anything. I am sure as I deleted browser cache too.

    //* Remove the post meta function
    remove_action( ‘genesis_after_post_content’, ‘genesis_post_meta’ );

    Not sure, that could should work, a 500 error means you have some formatting wrong in functions.php

    make sure you have an open <?php tag at the top, and this code is before any closing ?>

    Alternatively, you can just add this code to your style.css

    footer.entry-footer {
      display: none;
    }

    Hi Chillybin

    I am not sure what happened, but your previous HTML5 theme code works great now.

    Thank you so much:)
