Hi
http://booksmenread.com/
I am trying to get a post to appear as featured on the home of Lifestyle Pro, and am using Show Content as the option in the Genesis Featured Posts widget, but the images are appearing larger on the home page in the widget than they are in the actual post. I'd like them smaller than they appear on home page.

The widget in question is the middle top (April 2014 Giveaway)
Thanks

yes, I know its from the content, that's what I want - I may have 3 or 4 or more images alongside each other (I've updated the page to show that) and a featured image only allows me one. But even if I edit the image to make it smaller in the post, in the widget the size seems to default. Note in the post, the 2 images have been edited to be different size (just to show the problem) but in the widget they are the same, and the default size in the widget is not the original image size either, so I'm not sure how to fix that.
ThanksMarch 28, 2014 at 6:13 am #97102AnitaKeymasterHi @stewartt, have you resolved your issue? I am using Lifestyle Pro for my website at the moment. The image sizes for the widget areas is located inside the widget itself. There is a drop down that controls the images sizes for that widget. If there isn't a size in there that you like - one which will make your products look good on the home page - you can create a size in the functions.php file.
Go to Appearance > Editor. On the right, look for Functions (functions.php), click it. Scroll down and look for this;
//* Add new image sizes add_image_size( 'home-large', 634, 360, TRUE ); add_image_size( 'home-small', 266, 160, TRUE );
Say for instance you want your books in the left and right to be book covers sizes 187px by 150px. You would add that to the above like this and then save them.
add_image_size( 'home-book-covers', 187, 150, TRUE );
When you add new image sizes you will need to use a plugin called "Regenerate Thumbnails" to resize the previously used thumbnails to the new size.

Thanks for your detailed response. I'm not sure, but it seems this fix relates to the featured image size options in the widget? I'm not using a featured image because I'd like to display more than one book (with having to go away and create a new image with all those books in one image, which I'll do as last resort). My issues seems to be that the widget is resizing the images in the post to a default size that was created in the media library as far as I can tell. It isn't the original size of the images as they are way bigger as uploaded, but it isn't the size used in the original post either.
Thanks again
