    Hi

    Could anyone please help me understand why my images lose quality when I place them in certain areas.

    For instance on this page:

    http://www.spanish-fiestas.com/barcelona/

    - The logo in the header top left is blurred.
    - Some of the header right widget image “Private Tours of Spain” has lost its sharpness.
    - The “FC Barcelona Tickets” image in the right sidebar has also lost some of its sharpness.

    The graphic designer suggests that maybe “the site scales those images down a bit and loses quality”.

    Thanks

    Gerry

    Looks ok to me.

    To speed up the process please post the link to the website in question.

    But some images lose quality. I’m interested in this in the CSS:

    img {
    max-width: 98%;
    }

    I think this could be responsible.

    What is the purpose of this forced image reduction?

    Any problem if I change it to 100%?

    The 98% won’t affect it. The logo in the upper left is definitely on the blurry side. You may want to ask what dpi he has it set at? I’ve noticed with mine if I set it to 72 dpi, which is standard for web images, my logo looked blurry. So I set it at 300 dpi and that helped a lot without slowing down my site.
