Magazine Theme – Adding Footer header

Hi,

I have used the footer widgets in the Magazine theme (changed them from 3 to 5) but I can’t find where to add an H4 tag for a title to the whole section. I want to place this code:

echo ‘<h4>QUICK LINKS</h4>’; above the 5 footer widgets over the entire width of all 5 widgets.

 

Nick gave me this code:

add_action( 'genesis_before_footer', 'child_before_footer', 1 );
function child_before_footer() {
echo '<h4>QUICK LINKS</h4>';
} 

But when implemented, it places the H4 tag above the footer shown here: http://infomediallc.com/assistente/. Anyway to move it into the footer widget area?

No you’ll need to wrap your heading in a div then style both that div and the footer-widgets div so that it appears they are connected.

How do I do that when I can’t see where the footer-widget is called? I can see the CSS for the footer-widget, but not where in the theme its called.

Not sure what you mean by where it’s called. The CSS is what you need to edit, e.g. if you want a border to wrap both your new heading div and the footer-widgets div then you would only add top, left, and right borders to the heading div and then bottom, left and right border to the footer-widgets div and don’t include any margin between the two.
