Tagged: featured post image metro
I went into the functions.php file for Metro 2 so that I could create a custom size entry for the Featured Post image.
I added the 2nd entry for a 120x100 width image option:
//* Add new image sizes
add_image_size( 'portfolio', 540, 340, TRUE );
add_image_size( 'smaller', 120, 100, TRUE );
When I saved this, emptied the cache, the picture is huge once its selected under Featured Post image. I then selected the standard size thumbnail of 150x150 and its fine.
I think you need to regenerate thumbnails.
Adding a new size tells WordPress to generate that new size for all new image uploads.
If you test this on a new post draft, and upload a new image, WordPress will now include the new size so you can select it using the widget settings or content archives for featured images.
It won't work for older posts unless you regenerate the existing sizes which WordPress has already generated in your uploads folder.
