    Hi guys

I was hoping you could help me. I’m using the minimum child theme as you can see. I really like it but was wondering if it was possible to have a full length sticky post or a static page right beneath the 4 round social buttons (where it currently says “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria”) on my new website.  http://www.promoteyourbrandname.co.uk/

Then underneath this there would be the normal sumarised list of recent blog posts which would show about 100 characters of each post. I tried making a static homepage but lost all the social buttons and featured image etc.

    Thanks

    James

Set the page to display your latest posts (rather than the static page), and that will bring up your latest posts, which you could set to display just excerpts of.

You could register a widget area to act as a “sticky” post underneath the featured widget areas (which are where the four round social buttons reside).

To register a widget area, I like Brian Gardner’s description for adding a widget area (he calls his a text widget, but you could put whatever you want in there):

Thanks very much Susan. I will try this tomorrow when my mind is more fresh:)

I just wanted to make another suggestion (since I just learned of it myself!) – there is also a way to automatically create a “sticky post” – see this:

This sounds like a much easier way of getting the job done!

Is there a way for Brian Gardner’s welcome widget to only display on the home page?

In addition, is it possible for this to go above the subscribe now area on the home page?
