I downloaded and installed Genesis and the child theme Modern Portfolio but my site looks nothing like the demo. I can’t tell that there is a child theme at all. I don’t see the little image boxes nor do I know how to add them. Can someone help with this? I thought a child theme meant that I didn’t have to make a lot of layout changes – was I wrong?

Please follow the theme setup instructions.

If you want it to look like the demo, simply import the xml file located inside the child theme using the WordPress > Tools > Import plugin.

@braddalton Thanks for the response. I tried that and it doesn’t do anything (I just tried it for a second time). Also, this is what I see after importing:

I figured it out…I didn’t choose the option to download images for the xml file. Thanks!
