I have 2 sites with the modern theme and on 1 I keep getting a 404 error on my journal
the first is abbymalonephoto.com it works great when you click “journal”
on butterflyfoto.com i did the same steps and I keep getting an error on “journal”. Even when I go to the blog “page” I made and click “view page” from there I get an error. What’s the deal?
On the butterfly one, do you have a folder called /blog off the root? If so, that’s it, I reckon, and just rename that folder or delete it.
I cant see that I would because I dont know how to do that???
I just set it up with goddy wordpress install same as the last one?
Oh, well even if I’m wrong, if you’re not comfortable checking that, you’ll need to hire someone for hands-on help. Godaddy – I’ll try to withhold my opinion of them, as we’re in a public place. But if you did their canned WordPress install, and at some point it went into that folder, that could easily cause what I described.
You could also open up a ticket with official Genesis support, maybe they’d look at that.
Good luck, Dave
I will just call godaddy b/c they have always helped me with stuff like that. Can you recommend other hosting companies?
That could also work.
As for other hosting companies – they’re a moving target. In my experience any company can rapidly change. Godaddy is mediocre, but not the worst I’ve seen. These days for budget hosting I’ve been suggesting Hostgator and Site5.
