    I’d like to be able to show this after the ‘read more’ rather than on a line between the title and except. I’m sure this is easy for a professional, help!

    Ok, so I know now that I need to combine this code which shows the ‘post comments’

    				if ( ! empty( $instance['show_byline'] ) && ! empty( $instance['post_info'] ) )
    					printf( genesis_html5() ? '<p class="entry-meta">%s</p>' : '<p class="byline post-info">%s</p>', do_shortcode( $instance['post_info'] ) );

    with this code which shows the ‘read more’

    elseif ( 'content-limit' == $instance['show_content'] ) {
    					the_content_limit( (int) $instance['content_limit'], esc_html( $instance['more_text'] ) );
    				}

    so I effectively have ‘read more’ then ‘post comments’ next to each other on one line with a space between them.

    Any suggestions please?
