I am using the genesis sample theme, is it possible to move the nav bar and menu above my logo?
Thanks!

December 15, 2013 at 3:16 pm #79286masonjarsaladsMemberThanks, this is what it looks like in the child themes .php
do_action( 'genesis_before_header' );
do_action( 'genesis_header' );
do_action( 'genesis_after_header' );it's not exact to the instructions, I'm a little hesitant as I've crashed my theme before changing the .php. Any further advice?
December 15, 2013 at 3:37 pm #79292David ChuParticipantI will assume you're talking about your child theme's functions.php. What you're describing is odd. Those commands are legit commands, but I've never, ever seen them in a child theme's functions.php. So if they're there, that's pretty odd. Those usually show up in Genesis core files. The only time I see things like that is in cases where the coder may know WordPress but does not know Genesis.
Anyway, if you have discomfort about torching your site (and even if you don't have discomfort), you should have access to FTP, back up your original file that you're changing, and then try making the changes. If you mess it up, you reload the original file. If any of that is not familiar sounding, you'll need to learn those things before trying that out.
Good luck,
Dave

December 15, 2013 at 5:29 pm #79300masonjarsaladsMemberThank you Dave, do you mean I should have to change them on the Genesis framework itself and not on the child themes function.php? I don't know how to back up the file I will have to figure that out.
December 15, 2013 at 5:43 pm #79302masonjarsaladsMemberSorry for so many responses..what I mentioned earlier is on the header.php files
December 16, 2013 at 8:08 am #79459David ChuParticipantAha.
I wondered. You're busted! ๐ Don't make changes to any Genesis core files, keep them in your child theme's functions.php.Good luck,
Dave

December 16, 2013 at 1:28 pm #79524masonjarsaladsMemberIn the Genesis Sample Theme functions.php I can't find what was suggested to be removed. This is what it looks like....
<?php
//* Start the engine
include_once( get_template_directory() . '/lib/init.php' );//* Child theme (do not remove)
define( 'CHILD_THEME_NAME', 'Genesis Sample Theme' );
define( 'CHILD_THEME_URL', 'http://www.studiopress.com/' );
define( 'CHILD_THEME_VERSION', '2.0.1' );//* Enqueue Lato Google font
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'genesis_sample_google_fonts' );
function genesis_sample_google_fonts() {
wp_enqueue_style( 'google-font-lato', '//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato:300,700', array(), CHILD_THEME_VERSION );
}//* Add HTML5 markup structure
add_theme_support( 'html5' );//* Add viewport meta tag for mobile browsers
add_theme_support( 'genesis-responsive-viewport' );//* Add support for custom background
add_theme_support( 'custom-background' );//* Add support for 3-column footer widgets
add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 3 );December 16, 2013 at 1:40 pm #79535David ChuParticipantYou don't remove anything. You add the stuff in the tutorial. There, you've officially reached my free answer limit. ๐
Good luck!
