    See this page: http://goo.gl/qvgHmy

    1. As you can see on the header, the search feature is too close to the right edge of the header. I’d like to move it to the left a little bit. What’s the easiest way to achieve this?

    2. How do I change the text on the search button? I want to change the “GO” button to another text. Is it possible?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

    Ok for your first question, you need to open your child themes style.css file and look on around line 1459 for the following:

    [css]
    #header .searchform {
    float: right;
    padding: 50px 0 0;
    }
    [/css]

    and just change padding on the right example: padding 50px 20px 0;

    And for your second question paste the following into your child themes functions.php file.
    [php]
    <?php
    //* Do NOT include the opening php tag

    //* Customize search form input button text
    add_filter( ‘genesis_search_button_text’, ‘custom_search_button_text’ );
    function custom_search_button_text( $text ) {
    return esc_attr( ‘Go’ );
    }
    [/php]

    And jsut change the text form Go to whatever you like.

    Don’t forget to backup all files just in case something goes wrong.

    Hope this helps

    Stewart, thank you very much for your answer.

    The positioning issue was fixed thanks to your help.

    However, for the functions.php fix, when I copy-paste the code in the file, the website crashes and stop loading. I tried adding the closing > but still the same issue.

    Thank you.

    Hi, did you add the “<?php” ? if so remove it.

    If still having an issue let me know what version genesis you are running and when i get home Ill take a look at the enterprise theme files and see if I can find out what’s wrong.

    Works!! thank you so much :-) one last question if you don’t mind. I want to resize the search text box. I want to make it smaller.

    Glad it worked for you, To change the search box size just open your style.css file again on line 1456 onwards is all the styling for the search form.

    If you want to change the width of the text input box for example:

    [css]
    #header .s {
    margin: 5px 0 0;
    width: 250px;
    }
    [/css]

    Just change the width :) But basically there are 4 css styles there that you can play around with to achieve your desired look.
