    Hi,

after the last genesis update, I changed the width of my child-theme (Mini Press from Rafal Tomal) but then realized weeks later that my website wasn’t responsive anymore as it was before.
The sidebar slides down when I resize the browser or check it on the iPad etc..

Where can I start from to “cure” that?
I have read something about adding media queries to the .css file but I doubt that it’s as easy as “copy & paste” :(

Your help will be highly appreciated.

P.S.: Please note that I build this website from scratch. I’m neither a coder nor a designer, so don’t throw axes at me lol.

You aren’t using the Genesis Responsive Slider. You are using the regular Genesis Slider. Also make sure your Hello bar and the Punchtab bars are responsive plugins.

    Hi Anitac,

Thank you a bunch for your time and support.
I’ve installed and configured the Genesis Responsive Slider now (though I still have some displaying issues I didn’t succeed to fix yet)
Punchtab seems to be responsive. Hello bar isn’t a big issue as I’m just testing it for the moment.

However, the issue with the sidebar (i.e. here) and “Home Left” widget (titled: people are talking) that slide down the page when I resize the browser, still presist.

    Any thoughts what’s causing that?

    All the best!

You are using the Mini Press Child Theme 1.0 by Rafal Tomal. That’s not a responsive theme so you will have to add/edit the non-responsive areas – basically you need to “make it responsive”. It doesn’t appear that Rafal is supporting this theme any longer so you will need to just work on the media queries one step at a time.

Indeed, Rafal Tomal doesn’t support the Mini Press CT anymore. I loved it for its minimalistic design =)
Can you give me a hint about where I can get no-fluff, simple media queries for my purpose?

    Thank you

You add the content from your theme to the media queries. Whatever area is not responsive, you need to take that code, add it and then modify it so that it appears correctly. It’s not just as simple as adding in one thing. I would maybe suggest then using the Jetpack plugin to make the site responsive on mobile devices. That might be easier or getting a theme that is already responsive. You can hire someone to make your theme responsive as well.

I’d love to hire someone to do that, but I’m little embarrassed about all the mess in my site’s backend (DIY mess!)
Moreover, I only have a narrow Try&Error field as the site is online.
And as I can’t dive into that kind of code yet I guess I’ll take the plugin(s) option. Thank you for the hint about Jetpack.
Thank you for your valuable time and help Anitac.

    Regards,

P.S.: I guess you also have BH hosting!? Their servers are down ;(
I tried to check your website but it doesn’t respond.

No, I don’t have Blue Host. And my site is fully responsive. Not sure what you are looking at.

I just clicked on the Cre8tiveDiva link in your signature, but google returns “google couldn’t connect too…”
