Hi everyone,
I just put up a new site about 3 weeks ago with travel quizzes based on travel articles. I'll be adding travel quiz articles or pictures maybe 3-4 times a week.
I'd like feedback about the site.
Does it look OK?
Do you notice any errors?
What can I do to improve the site?
Try a quiz - Is it too easy or hard?
Any criticisms? Don't worry about hurting my feelings.
What about the ads on the sidebar going to non travel related sites, should they be removed/replaced?
There is one affiliate ad on the sidebar (promoting something) going to a site that is not mine should I remove it?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles

There is a little problem on iPad landscape with the travel quiz widget escaping its box (3rd widget) . Also not keen on the green background that loads before the bg image, grey or white would be a better choice, unless there is a reason I'm missing

Lynne emasai.comMarch 16, 2014 at 6:50 pm #95233yolkyMemberThanks Lynne. I don't think I can control the widget. The green I cannot control since that is the color of the links and background if I didn't have the images, but I'll check. If I could make it white or gray you could not tell they were links. Yes there are other colors, but I happened to like green best.
Anyway I am still experimenting with the site. It was working properly, but now it's not. I think maybe the code to have different background images caused the problem, but not sure.

You can remove the background colour in the style.css file without impacting the links.

Thanks for the info.
I don't know css enough to make any changes to it unless someone told me what to do. I can tell what's happening in some cases, but many times I don't know exactly what the css is doing. I don't know that language. So I will have to pass on the widget change for now because I just don't have money to afford to pay someone. I have been reluctant to learn css or php because of time constraints and I am reluctant to get back into programming if I can avoid it.
Apparently the background color is set before the image loads and that is why it flashes.
As far as the background color flashing I just checked and the options for background color are all colors and no white. I don't know how to eliminate the color background. It is not necessary as long as the background has a full screen image, which it does at the present time and will if I can get the home page to show like it did before, like in the Agency Pro demo.
