Hey there!
My site is located at mywifemakes.com and I am using Genesis with Foodie Pro.
Ever since the recent update for Genesis, I've noticed a weird change in how my 'Categories' and 'Archive' tags are drawn out, if you look at my homepage page, you will see that our 'Recipe Categories' widget on the right prints the title of the widget twice. This is the same case on this page - http://www.mywifemakes.com/recipe-index/ - for Archives, where the words are displayed twice.I was wondering if someone could pretty please assist me by showing me how to remove this odd double print. I've noticed it across some other blogs using Genesis / Foodie Pro as well since the update. Could someone please help me with making sure the Archives and Categories widgets only display the labels once and not twice (as it used to)? Any help is appreciated. ๐ I can remove the main titles, but the odd double print still appears whatever I do.

That's an interesting case, which I'm starting to see here and there. Did you, by chance, install an accessibility plugin?Dave

After the most recent WordPress update Genesis Themes are showing screen reader text above some widget areas. Screen Reader Text is actually a good thing, it makes your site more accessible. For aesthetic purposes, I've chosen to hide that text in widgets by using a fix found here. I recommend reading that article for a better understanding of accessibility in general.
Paste the code below at the bottom of your CSS if you choose to hide it as well. The screen reader will still pick it up, but it will no longer appear as a double heading of sorts in widget areas.
/* Text meant only for screen readers. */ .screen-reader-text { clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px); position: absolute !important; height: 1px; width: 1px; overflow: hidden; }

Yes, good point, that's exactly it. What many people don't know is that you don't want to use "display: none" to vanish these, because that tends to hinder accessibility.Food blogging appears to be exploding - these days I'm getting multiple requests to customize Foodie Pro, sometimes substantially. Now I know where all the bodies are buried in its code. ๐

I contacted the makers of Foodie Pro and this is what they reported back to me.
"Hi Levan,
Thanks for getting in touch! This is an issue we've seen with the WordPress 4.2 update. To resolve you can either update your theme to the latest version or add this code to your style.css file:
.screen-reader-text {
position: absolute !important;
left: -999em;
}Best,
Jodi"I tried this and it 100% works. ๐ I know a LOT of people who have been experiencing this with the Foodie Theme so hopefully this thread will prove useful to anyone searching for a solution.
Thanks again for everyone's amazing help!
