I am so disappointed that the old forums are going away. The note at http://www.studiopress.com/support/ says:
These forums have been set to read-only so you can browse the existing topics for any questions you may have -- and this forum will be removed on July 1st, 2013.
The old forum is a wealth of information that can NOT be found anywhere else within StudioPress.com.
I do not understand the logic of removing the wealth of this valuable information. I have an issue and search the old forum and there is my problem and the solution.
Please do not remove the old forum.
June 21, 2013 at 11:11 pm #47149DerekMemberI will miss the old forum but as the Genesis Framework continues to evolve some of the coding fix's may or may not work in the current version or mess things up even more.
This new forum is still new but it's getting there with a wealth of knowledge. Latley for answer's I've found them on the following links:
http://www.briangardner.com/code/
http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/
http://www.studiopress.com/faqs
http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/The admin or moderators on here would be able to answer your concerns much better but there are very smart members on this forum that is capable of helping resolve any issue besides the 1 on 1 support that StudioPress now provides.

June 22, 2013 at 4:23 pm #47223swilkinsMemberI had 4 issues come up yesterday on different websites that I am working on. Did not find the problem or solution in the new forum or in the urls you have above.
I did find the problems mentioned and solutions in the old forum.
Additionally I ended up creating a ticket for one of the problems. The issue is well known to support, however not posted anywhere for others to find.
If there are common issues with Genesis themes, the solutions need to be posted somewhere if the old forum is closing down. as the only place I've been able to find answers is in the old forum.
June 22, 2013 at 7:29 pm #47244DerekMemberI wonder if there could be some sticky threads with fix's for the most asked questions. Sorta like a FAQ of some sort. One that moderators or the admin's can continue to edit if they feel that some issues/problems keep getting asked over and over again.
Meh, I need to get some coffee so my real good idea's come to me.

June 26, 2013 at 5:50 pm #47895OliveBurbankMemberI am devastated that the old forum is going away. Looking for information, following threads has helped me immensely. When I have questions I almost always end up at the old forum to search through the years of knowledge to find my answers and/or provide me a direction to purse based on the answers provided on various treads.
One of the huge benefits of Studio Press is the knowledge base created over the years. The information acquired over the years assists all types of users; taking this away puts many of us in a deep, deep, dark hole.
Right now I would like to search for an issue I am having - I can't even access the old forum.
I am on bended knee asking for the old forum to stay available. There is too much knowledge there to not make it available for members - to just delete it is a crime.
June 26, 2013 at 6:21 pm #47898swilkinsMemberThis link isn't working for you?
http://www.studiopress.com/support/June 26, 2013 at 8:27 pm #47939essaysnarkParticipantAgree with swilkins; losing the old forum is a big bummer. I use it a lot when I get stuck - which is often! This forum doesn't have nearly the same breadth and depth, nor does it have search tools that are up to the task. The old forum is no joy to navigate now but I can often find what I need there with some digging. Not so here. 🙁
ETA: I guess I'm also puzzled by why it would need to be taken down. I wasn't a big fan of this new forum when it was rolled out but I understand that StudioPress needed to change things for their own business purposes, which is totally their prerogative. However, what's the drain on resources in keeping a static set of pages alive on the 'net? Is it really eating up that much in bandwidth/hosting costs? This doesn't feel very customer-friendly.
June 26, 2013 at 9:07 pm #47949worksMemberThe old forums is a valuable piece of content indeed. Maybe if it is expensive to keep, it could be monetized (with ads or something), but just throwing it away seems rather a loss.
June 26, 2013 at 10:26 pm #47965swilkinsMemberI would pay to have access to the Old Forum.
Even though Genesis Framework continues to evolve, the Old Forum is a wealth of information that will still be valuable.
The business decision to shut it down has never been explained even though I have asked in an email exchange with BG.
The new ticketing system also creates withholds of valuable information from other users once the issue has been resolved.
Would be nice to see a summary of issues each week and how they were resolved.
June 26, 2013 at 11:47 pm #47974Linda MullerMemberPlease keep the old forum available. I use it just as much as this new version. If the Studiopress team is worried that someone might screw up their site because some of the info is dated then just put up a disclaimer - in big red letters: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Come on... give us a break and let us continue to access the old forum. There are too many great tips in there to just throw it all away!
June 27, 2013 at 7:50 am #48019DerekMemberSo when all the tips in the old forum will no longer work in the new frameworks, you still want it?
The thread creator should of contacted support about this as no moderator or studiopress staff has even replied in this thread yet. They must be busy answering support ticket's.
I have not used the old forum since this new one was created. I got all my help through the ticket system or on this forum by helpful members.

June 27, 2013 at 7:57 am #48020essaysnarkParticipantSo when all the tips in the old forum will no longer work in the new frameworks, you still want it?
That's a future state. The current state is, the old forum has very useful content.
[N]o moderator or studiopress staff has even replied in this thread yet.
This is actually a big reason why this forum is less valuable than the old one. There was a lot more participation by some key Genesis experts in the other one. No offense to everyone who's trying to make this forum work, but the answers here are sometimes lacking (my own attempts to offer help included!).
June 27, 2013 at 11:35 am #48075flamerzMemberClosing the old forum is a big loss.
I hope they keep it alive as read only.
June 27, 2013 at 2:19 pm #48095swilkinsMemberSo when all the tips in the old forum will no longer work in the new frameworks, you still want it?
Yes, the information will still be valuable. Just got to know what hooks are changing, what div names are changing, that css is moving away for IDs and to classes,
I emailed Brian G all my concerns when it was first announced that the Old Forum would be going away in a matter of time.
Got a nice form reply that kinda blew me off.
June 28, 2013 at 3:53 pm #48285gailmailParticipantOh yes, please don't take down...I will end up driving you all crazy with new questions--as will others I am sure.
I would bet the traffic to the old site is huge, and you have to ask yourselves if MOST of that traffic will then come here with tons of questions....could be a nightmare from a support standpoint unless you are REALLY ready for it. Is the traffic to that site really gone?
Studiopress is very complicated unless you are very technical, and all the tutorials/help are written at a very high level (in other words, not very clear and complete, assumes a lot of prior knowledge).
Just been looking through this new forum and for the questions I have had, I see a LOT of unresolved/unanswered questions!
June 28, 2013 at 11:00 pm #48339HelenaBParticipantAnother vote for keeping the old forum.
Maybe make people tick a checkbox as they access it to confirm that they understand content there is to do with the "old" version of Genesis and that they need to check their version first.
Finding solutions to issues was much quicker on the old forum's structured sub-fora. It's very hit and miss now - depending on how you word a problem. I do find solutions - but it takes a lot longer.
Studiopress is very complicated unless you are very technical
I've been writing my own WordPress themes for years and I'm often confused by Genesis.
I have well over a dozen client sites that use the current version of Genesis and will continue to do so until I find a way of making the new version as accessible as the old and ensure that it all works reasonably in older browsers. So I will still need answers to "old" problems.
I do hope that if we are forced to contact Support with issues that used to be resolved on the old forum we won't get the "I'm sorry but your query is beyond the scope of support" etc.
Here's a thought for you Studiopress. Stick the old forum on a sub-directory behind a pay-screen and charge a small annual amount (and I do mean really small - $5 or $10) to access it. Think of all the support staff time it'd save you!
June 29, 2013 at 9:56 pm #48475gailmailParticipantWhen I was there this week there were 121 people in there! If each one submits 2-3 tickets....each day....?
I really hope they had studied the stats of vistors and users and are GEARED UP with a lot of true support people. That they calcuated what percent of them visited different questions, and what percent will now have to ask with a ticket. Because they are going to get hit over and over and very basic questions about settng up the themes to look like the demos. There is no basic help or tutorials for the general public. Lots of high level jargon only.
I'm not even talking customization--I am talking about what you get and how it looks nothing like the demos and there a lot that has to happen there.....with no basic instructions! I've seen lots of admin responses that are so technical in nature and someone would jump in to help. Now that it will all be secret and private their reps are going to be driven crazy with my basic questions alone! But if that is how they want to do it, I hope the financial model makes sense because you had thousands of people searching and helping themselves. I won't even bother anymore I guess. "Why is the home page photo so much bigger than the demo" "Tell me how to get that box there on the bottom of the home page"....etc etc. "This picture isn't centered like the demo one"
They have sold Studiopress as "web site in 20 minutes" and for those who are used to changing themes and templates in Word or Powerpoint it sounds easy. It's not even on the same planet! I think there are lots of people who realized this and either gave up or searched the forums and taught themselves bit by bit.
What I am hearing is that Studipress wants a much more complicated support model--it'll be expensive for them. To get me set up to a basic functioning web site each time I try a new look and they have very different things that have to be done. With Getting started instructions as a college programming level! Yikes Be ready, I've gotten hundreds of Agentpress answers from the site and they are all now coming to YOU!!!! 🙂
July 3, 2013 at 2:12 pm #49049karenalenoreMemberAgh! Is it really gone now? I am totally stuck. When I search this new forum I'm swamped with irrelevant results. And it seems that the excerpts do not focus on my search term in excerpt format and it's just pages of full posts. This seems more like a blog site search results instead of a support forum results. Maybe its the formatting but it is just not easily scan-able. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this thing useful for simple questions that really should not need a support ticket opened?
For example, I searched "sticky posts" today and ... well just try it and see what I mean by the first result being obnoxiously useless.
