    In a theme like Metro, which generates three featured images (thumbnails) of each post, what technique (if any) do you guys use to make sure that the image displayed for each size makes sense?



    Are you trying to control the way the image gets cropped or resized? If so, there isn’t really a great control over this. You can choose whether images or resized to fit a specific size or hard cropped to be an exact match to your specific size but not to chose which bits get cut off.
