Hey Friends,
Can you suggest a Sidebar Plug in that allows me to display specific menu on specific pages?
Here is an example of what I want: http://www.rankingbyseo.com/seo-company-india.html
If you visit their menu, and click on the each of the service, they show on their sidebar only the relevant services. This is something I have been wanting to do. I have been searching for an exact plugin that lets me do just that.
If you can suggest me a plug, it would be very useful.
Thanks
http://topleaguetech.com/September 6, 2014 at 12:17 pm #123071AnitaKeymasterIt's not a plugin. Just create a Custom Menu under Appearance > Menus. Add the pages you want to see there and save it. Then go to Appearance > Widgets. Drag a Custom Menu widget over to the Sidebar. Select that new Custom Menu you just created.

Add your quote box at the top of each new side bar and then create a custom menu for each sidebar (created by following Anita's instructions) and you should be there!

September 6, 2014 at 3:23 pm #123086susantaParticipantAnita, thanks for your help! I did create a custom menu. I added some of my preferred pages to the custom menu. Saved it.
Then I went to the widget area and added a custom menu widget to the Primary Sidebar. From the custom menu, I choose the option which I had create in the previous step. I saved it.
Although I am able to add a custom menu to my sidebar, but it doesn't solve my purpose. Following your steps, I ended up creating one custom menu which is similar across all pages and posts.
Please, tell me if I am misunderstanding you.
September 6, 2014 at 5:12 pm #123092SummerMemberYou need to use another plugin that will allow you to selectively display that menu widget on the sidebars you want.
I use Dynamic Widgets, others here have mentioned using Widget Logic.
Conditional Widgets is another one I've seen, but I haven't played with it myself yet.
Either of those should let you pick and choose what pages will display your menu widget or not, and you won't need to clutter things up by having 5-10 extra single-page-only custom sidebars.
(second attempt to post this... darned 2 links limit struck again)
