    Aloha,

    I’ve been using simple edits plugin to show post meta – I want the categories to show, however I want to remove the word “filed under”

    Where do I do this? I can’t find it on my theme functions…

    been looking at this for help: http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-meta/#customize

    This is what you want to add to your functions.php to remove the Filed Under: and the Tagged With:

    // Customize the post meta function
    add_filter( 'genesis_post_meta', 'bb_filter_post_meta' );
    function bb_filter_post_meta($post_meta) {
        $post_meta = '[post_categories before=""] [post_tags before=""]';
        return $post_meta;
    }

    If you don’t want to remove the Tagged With:, just use:

    // Customize the post meta function
    add_filter( 'genesis_post_meta', 'bb_filter_post_meta' );
    function bb_filter_post_meta($post_meta) {
        $post_meta = '[post_categories before=""]';
        return $post_meta;
    }

    functions.php
    But I think you can try to use simple edits plugin too; I just haven’t used it.

    Hm – it worked on my test site but not on my live site… what is the ‘bb’ in the code?

    ok so the issue seems to be that the genesis simple edits plugin is overwriting anything I add to the functions php.

    any idea of a way around this without losing the genesis simple edits plugin?

    Figured it out! it was just a matter of adding before=” “] inside the [post_categories] in simple edits.

    OK. That’s what I thought about Simple Edits, but didn’t have time to try it.

    I’m glad you got it sorted!
