I have a new blog with a free theme and the usual recommended plugins. Before formally launching, am seriously thinking of installing the Prose theme (already have Premise, so it makes sense?) — but am wondering how to go about it – would I (or should I) deactivate the plug-ins first? Are there any plug-ins that do not work well with, or are not needed with Prose – or Studio Themes generally? I have had a static website for 14 years, but am new to WordPress. Thank you for any suggestions.

I recommend deactivating all plugins when switching to any theme or upgrading WP (or a theme). Then you can look at what the theme itself offers and supplement code in the theme with the plugins that you need.

Thanks, John. That makes sense. Is it complicated or time-consuming to switch to a StudioPress theme, such as Prose?
