Hi there,

    I’m new to Genesis themes and have just installed the Prose theme on my site: http://www.nimblewitassistant.com.au I would like to add a slider to the homepage and have installed the responsive slider but when I look for the slideshow area widget there isn’t one.

    I’m not experienced with creating new areas so I’m a bit lost…can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    Jen

    Install the Easing Slider plugin and the Genesis Simple Hooks plugin.

    Paste this code into the location you want to display the header.
<?php if (is_home()) { easing_slider(); }; ?>
You could also add a widget area using PHP code and install the Genesis Responsive Slider which is more complicated but probably a better option. http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar

    Thanks so much Brad.

    Have done that but now the code is showing on the page, is this because I don’t have the slider configured correctly or should I substitute parts o the code with something?

    Sorry no coding experience so have no idea what I’m doing…http://nimblewitassistant.com.au/

    Oh! Also forgot to mention is it possible just to have the slider on the homepage and nowhere else? Currently the code is showing on each page.

    Ideally would like the code at the bottom of my homepage content or somewhere like that but don’t mind if it’s under the header either as long as header stays where it is and the slider doesn’t show on all the other pages.

    Thanks again.

    Remove the opening and closing php shortcodes [ ]

    It will only show on the home page because it uses a conditional tag is_home()

    HI,

    This forum is awesome. It is  what I’m looking for. The only problem I’m having is that the slideshow is going above my header image.

    How do I fix this?
