Using Quattro theme for client. I have one menu item ("Services") that is a "custom link" without a UR. Pretty standard... just hover over the menu item and the sub-items show ups. When in Admin mode using the "Visit Site" link, the site's "Service" menu items drops down and shows the sub-menus while hovering... but when mouse is moved down to select an item, the drop-down disappears.
BUT... in regular mode... (log out of Admin) the menu works fine.
Must be a Javascript conflict with something in Admin? I've never seen this with any other theme. Anyone have any ideas?

May 21, 2013 at 8:53 pm #42118devParticipantSorry I can't give the link as it is a client site... it is already "live" and I'd have to get permission. Since the site works fine, this is not as much a problem as it is a curiosity to me. I posted with the idea that maybe someone else has seen a similar situation with menus not working properly in Admin mode, but work fine after log-out.
May 22, 2013 at 5:08 am #42172AnitaKeymasterThere had been a inquiry on this over on the old forum. The last response from SP was that they were trying to narrow it down. However, it was never updated. I found this to another similar situation and this is what fixed it.
.menu-primary li ul, .menu-secondary li ul, #header .menu li ul { background-color: #F3F3F3; border: 1px solid #ccc; border-top: 0; height: auto; left: -9999px; margin: 2px 0 0; padding: 0 10px; position: absolute; width: 150px; z-index: 9999; }
Look for the 2px in the margin and change it to 0.
See if that works. If not, you will need to put in a support ticket. Mention this discussion as well as this link to where I found the notes about them working on a fix - http://www.studiopress.com/support/showthread.php?t=123059&highlight=menu.

May 22, 2013 at 8:24 am #42195devParticipantSorry, but changing the margin to zero did not work. I will put in a support tix, although it is not that big a deal.
Thanks for looking into it for me.
I tried the link to the old forum but it would not let me log in, saying the password is wrong. I used same one as for this board. Anyway, I'll mention the link to them in the support tix.
May 22, 2013 at 8:59 am #42200devParticipantI put in the support tix and two minutes later Nick from SP wrote me and said to use this code:
.menu-primary li ul, .menu-secondary li ul, #header .menu li ul { margin: 0; }
It worked great!
Previously, I had margin 0 0 0;
Not sure why that didn't work, but maybe I messed something else up.
This simple override fixes whatever the problem is with Quattro in Admin mode.
Thanks.
May 22, 2013 at 9:39 am #42207AnitaKeymasterOh, typically - if all elements are to be "0" you need to only use the "0" one time. But as you had it - 0 0 0 - you were missing a fourth "0". Glad he was able to fix this. I will note it also.
