1. Any lightweight, well-coded, effective Optin plugin to work with Genesis framework? I have tried ConvertPlug, it has huge potential, but there are a few loading issues, which I suspect are clashes between the theme and the plugin. Any plugins that work great with Genesis without bogging down the whole site? I was thinking ThriveLeads or Bloom, are they fine?
2. Any lightweight, fast, social sharing plugin that you recommend that works well with genesis? Genesis Simple Share is no longer enough for me. Perhaps Monarch? It looks fantastic.
3. I love the idea behind templates like No Sidebar. The minimalistic approach behind it is very refreshing and focusing, and i'm thinking of turning my site, at least for a while, so I can A/B test it against the current design. However, if i'm gonna make the site a single-column, why not make use of the entire width? So my question is this: Are there any drawbacks for using a a much wider column (1280? 1024? 900?) and thus much bigger fonts? I want to be able to fit large, flashy photos all over the site, and bigger text seems to be the growing trend.
4. For sites that demand a special structure (landing pages, squeeze pages, etc), I use the Divi theme. However, I'd love to have the ability to build those pages inside my Genesis sites instead of on new WordPress installations, but I'm hesitant because I don't want them to slow down my entire site. (I suspect Divi isn't nearly as lean as Genesis). Is there any builder that is well-coded and lean? I was thinking Beaver Builder, because it seems to simply write HTML. Anyone has experience with it? Anything else recommended?
Thanks a lot fellas,
Much, much appreciated.July 17, 2016 at 4:47 pm #189719ChristophMemberHi,
1) I doubt there is a problem between Convertplug and Genesis. More likely ConvertPlug has to iron out some performance problems.
Thrive Leads is a very heavy plugin with lots of settings.
Bloom does not provide Exit Intent. You could try https://wordpress.org/plugins/smart-popup-blaster/
NinjaPopups from Codecanyon works well for me on a client site.OptinFire from 99Robots looks promising.
2)
I would take a look at Social Warfare from http://warfareplugins.com/3)
Would really have to see the design but keep in mind that not everybody is using a 27 inch screen 😉4)
BeaverBuilder is probably the best liked page builder by Genesis developers.
You should be good to make the switch.

1. Well when I put ConvertPlug on a Divi website, it works better. I did contact their support and they fixed some CSS for me (the ribbon bar was expanding into two lines for no reason), but no matter what, I can't seem to avoid getting their overlays pop up in strange, sometimes 'locked-up' places on the screen. How heavy is Ninja Popups? I'm a little hesitant towards plugins that don't have some form of subscription or recurring income nature, because then it's hard for developers to keep innovating. As for Thrive Leads, I contacted them, they say they have Lazy Load option so it doesn't slow down the site. Is that practical? I can't seem to find any OptinFire reviews anywhere.
2. What makes you prefer it over Monarch? faster load times perhaps?
3. I'm not talking about a 5k site 🙂 I'm saying, simply expanding the site's width from ~750 to, say, ~950 or so, and enlarge the fonts. Does that make sense?
4. Oh, nice! Does Beaver simply create HTML so that when you delete it, the design is kept intact? I.e, can you buy the plugin, install, build a page, and then uninstall and keep the page?

1) Well, I can't speak to Envato's business model. Ninja Popups has been around for almost 4 years so somehow they make it work...
Thrive Leads is a big plugin and a beast to configure. By all means, try it for yourself. I believe they have a money back guarantee.2) Just my tendency to avoid Elegant Themes products.
3) That sounds like a good plan. I like fonts that I can actually read 😉
4) It will not leave a shortcode mess, and the content will still be readable / accessible but the layout will be lost.
July 19, 2016 at 11:07 am #189803RegevParticipantThe only thing I worry about is ThriveLeads slowing down my fast Genesis theme.
Why don't you like Elegant Themes? Bloated code?
August 22, 2016 at 4:34 pm #191840kylehsingsMemberChristoph, any reason Beaver Builder is preferred over Site Origin's PageBuilder set of plugins?
