Hi guys,

I am using the Focus theme and looking to remove the links down the bottom.

ie remove the below hyperlinks to various locations.

FOCUS CHILD THEME ON GENESIS FRAMEWORK · WORDPRESS · LOG OUT

Could someone please let me know the best way to remove these?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Hi,
The easy way is to use this plugin. Then go to Genesis… Simple Edits…. click “modify enter footer…” and go wild editing, or just erase.

The plugin is fine, but you can do this almost as easy in code…

I’ve never had a problem with using code.

We’ve all had issues with plugins and I avoid them as much as possible, especially if it is just a tiny code snippet provided to me (i.e. vetted) by StudioPress.

Hi guys,

So do you go to:
theme’s functions.php
On the child theme?

Then should the below be already in there? Or do you need to add it?

<?php
//* Do NOT include the opening php tag

//* Change the footer text
add_filter(‘genesis_footer_creds_text’, ‘footer_creds_filter’);
function footer_creds_filter( $creds ) {
$creds = ‘[footer_copyright] · My Custom Link · Built on the Genesis Framework‘;
return $creds;
}

Thanks for you help.

Go to the child theme’s function.php and put the code at the end of the file. Here is our code… you use your own URL:
// Put in our own credits
add_filter( ‘genesis_footer_creds_text’, ‘custom_footer_creds_text’ );
function custom_footer_creds_text() {
echo ‘<div class="creds"><p>’;
echo ‘Copyright © ‘;
echo date(‘Y’);
echo ‘ · Designed by NewMedia Website Design ‘;
echo ‘</p></div>’;
}
Unfortunately, when I try to use this code with the Dynamik Website Builder, it breaks the theme and I get an error message. No help forthcoming from the Cobalt Apps forum so for now I’m stuck with a footer I don’t want.

What kind of error do you get? I’ve never tried it with Dynamik Website Builder… not even sure what that is. I know Catalyst and I know their Genesis Extender product. I read that they have a theme called Dynamik (they are phasing out Catalyst) and so I’m rather surprised the code breaks the theme. Again, tell us what the error is. Maybe show us what you are putting into the functions.php file.

You might want to test it with the Genesis Sample theme to see if it works.
