I am working with a developer on a site based on the Outreach Pro theme. Everything is looking good, and the client (not me) is getting what she has asked for. One issue has cropped up in working with my developer, however, and I am hoping someone will take a look and provide some feedback.
The issue is what we are calling the 'green flash'. When each page loads, one sees a very brief but obvious flash of green color. It seems that the page templates (home and interior) have been set up to render a particular green color in the footer in such a way that requires the background color of the page to be set to the green color of the footer. That is the 'green flash' that is seen prior to div content with white backgrounds loading over it (I gave that my best shot, but I may be a bit off in my description of the situation). I feel that the effect is jarring, and it should be fixed. My developer has told me that this is something the site will have to live with. I can't quite accept that, and I wonder if anyone has the time to take a look at the situation and advise me whether this is in fact a situation that makes sense. I would be very grateful.

The reason the pages flash is because your pages are awkwardly constructed to hide content from the viewer.

The footer-widgets, including a complete 7-item menu, are hidden from display with CSS, but the HTML is output and visible to web crawlers.
It's possibly an effort to boost your SEO potential (This is a decade-old issue for Google and other search engines and still is - Does Google Crawl CSS ‘display:none’ Content?) Or perhaps it is a build error or oversight that made the menu hidden.
You could choose to remove this to eliminate the flashy page effects, and maybe improve your SEO results.
Or you could refine it to actually display it to your readers to better maintain engagement when they've reached the end of a longer page, when the header menu is no longer visible. Your readers will benefit and Google will probably like you better, too.
