Is it possible to revert back to Genesis 1.9? I upgraded to 2.0 (the latest version) and it has slowed down the server response time of my site (using Lifestyle 2.0 theme) from 2000 ms to close to 5000 ms. That’s an extra three seconds. I can show that it is Genesis 2.0 because I have done this twice now, and both times the response time more than doubled. The first time, I had a full site backup I could restore. This time I don’t have a backup to restore, hence the question.

I really think it’s a server thing because I’ve never had problems with Genesis slowing down my sites. I don’t no about reverting back to 1.9 but I would think if you have your copy of Genesis 1.9 you could install it but it may cause your website to break.

You can also setup a demo and try it.

To speed up the process please post the link to the website in question.

I don’t actually have Genesis 1.9 downloaded. Any idea if there are links to it anywhere?

I do not recommend reverting to 1.9. This might work as a short term fix but if you get stuck on Genesis 1.9 you will eventually get stuck in WordPress. It might be 3.6 or 3.7 or even 4.2, but eventually you will not be able to update WordPress. This is a very bad thing and misses the point of Genesis updates.

Instead, please start a ticket with us in so we can identify why there is a large difference in load times and help make sure your update works correctly.
