I am trying to use a plugin called rtmedia with buddypress. It gives the user of the website the ability to upload media, like photos music or videos to there user account in there profile.
Unfortunately I found out the hard way now that Genesis may not work with rtMedia. I have switched themes to the default wordpress theme and rtmedia works fine. The upload box appears and allows users to upload files or drag and drop them. If I use rtmedia on the default genesis theme it just shows an error like this:
""@adhchy active 17 seconds ago Points balance: 0.00 ActivityProfileNotifications 0Messages 0Friends 1My HistorySettingsMedia0 All0Photos0Videos0Music0 Media Gallery Upload orDrop your files here Oops !! There’s no media found for the request !!

Is there anyway to receive some assistance for this issue if anyone is familiar or would know where to begin to get this fixed? Thank you for your time
July 1, 2015 at 9:19 am #158039bgigiMemberI have contacted the developer of RTMedia plugin. They indicated this document that could assist. I am just a bit confused on if I need to indicate my Genesis theme in the below code
BuddyPress Theme Media Tab
By default, rtMedia uses the current theme's index.php template as the base template. If you want to change this to some other template or if you are using any theme based on BuddyPress default theme,and have issues with the rtMedia media tab, then you can specify a different template to be used by rtMedia.
Just put the following code in your theme's functions.php file.
function rtmedia_main_template_include($template, $new_rt_template){ global $wp_query; $wp_query->is_page = true; return get_page_template(); } add_filter('rtmedia_main_template_include', 'rtmedia_main_template_include', 20, 2);
"This will set the theme page.php template as base template for rtMedia. If you wish to make a different template for the same, just use this function locate_template('your-custom-template.php') instead of the function get_page_template() used in the above code."
Can anyone share some insight on applying this fix through Genesis. If I do change my theme to twenty fifteen the upload box shows up fine, but when selecting the Genesis them it just shows this message where the image upload box should be

Thanks again for your time and any help you can provide for this issue.

if the Content Archives is set to Display post Excerpts rtmedia plugin will not show the media upload options, if Content Archives within Genesis is set to Display Post Content with Limited Content to 0, it will display the rtmedia media upload option. If featured image is selected in the Genesis Content Archives, this will show up in the rtmedia user profile.
So now I will just leave the content artchives to display post content , 0 characters no featured image.
