Hi,
I've uploaded my header and centered it with the help of another thread here - but now I am left with the text box which would normally contain the site name text in it which obscures my image. I've unchecked the header text box already. should I be doing something else? Thanks!

May 26, 2014 at 11:41 am #106843nutsandboltsMemberWithout being able to use Firebug or Inspector to view the issue on the site, it will be difficult for anyone to advise you. Did you upload the header in Appearance > Header or include it manually in the stylesheet?

I included it in Appearance>Header. The header itself is fine, just that the grey background box that appears by default lie on the demo site with the words Scribble Theme for genesis framework, still appears instead of being replaced with the header e.g. http://demo.studiopress.com/scribble/sample...that's to say, I see the header but it is behind this grey box.
Thanks for your patience. Louisa

I've removed the custom menu from the header area and now the whole thing is grey. Does this help at all? Thanks

May 26, 2014 at 1:19 pm #106851LouisaMemberOh no!!! Now I tried the code snippet:
http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/header/#remove-site-title:7
<?php
//* Do NOT include the opening php tag//* Remove the site title
remove_action( 'genesis_site_title', 'genesis_seo_site_title' );And it mucked it up entirely. I can't even access the functions.php editor anymore. It has the error message -
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /homepages/38/d436991656/htdocs/louisaleontiades/wp-content/themes/scribble/functions.php on line 75
Guess Genesis isn't for non-programmers! Thanks
May 26, 2014 at 1:27 pm #106852nutsandboltsMemberAny time you use a snippet, be sure not to include the opening PHP tag and the warning below it.
If you access your site via FTP, you can remove the snippet from functions.php (the functions.php file should always be edited via FTP and not in Appearance > Editor because of the risk of something going wrong) and your site will work again.
The snippet you want is this:
//* Remove the site title remove_action( 'genesis_site_title', 'genesis_seo_site_title' );

Thanks, I went into myphpadmin and changed the theme. But then I added the snippet and it came back with this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or '$' in /homepages/38/d436991656/htdocs/louisaleontiades/wp-content/themes/scribble/functions.php on line 76

I moved to a different location with a different computer and decided to give up on scribble. Instead I tried Mocha and followed your instructions to someone else to paste in the header.
#header {
background: url(http://louisaleontiades.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/transparent_500.png) center no-repeat !important;
margin: 0 auto;
min-height: 155px;
overflow: hidden;
width: 100%;
}it worked. Thanks for your patience, and this can be marked as resolved.
Louisa!
