    Is it possible for me to set up a certain banner to appear on all pages except for a specific category/categories in the conditions when I place the hook?

    If yes, how do I do that? Or where can I get information on how to achieve this?

    no, for this, I am actually referring to the banners that will appear on top of the blog posts using hooks, not the sidebar matter which I was referring to in the other thread, which to me are 2 different issues, thus 2 threads to avoid confusion.

    If I were doing it, I would use the same methodology for this that I outlined in the other thread.  Create a new sidebar area and use conditional logic to display what you want on the appropriate pages.
