I created a widget to display Simple Social Icons right before my post titles. They look great.
The problem is, when I click the Facebook button, for instance, I am taken to the URI specified by me in the respective widget’s field (for example, my Facebook profile or page). Naturally, the behavior I expect from this button is that, by clicking it, a fully functional Facebook Like window would open, where my readers could post to their wall with a link to my article – as can be seen in <a href=”http://www.briangardner.com/social-media-icons/”Brian Gardner’s page</a>.
I have my Facebook credentials etc configured via Yoast’s SEO Plugin.
Here is a random <a href=”http://www.enxaqueca.com.br/blog/pimenta/”>post</a> in my blog. Can you please help me solve this functionality issue?http://www.enxaqueca.com.br/blog/pimenta/
The simple social icons are not a “sharing” tool – they are designed to have people visit you on other social media. You could probably configure the stylesheet for the plugin to have them as sharing buttons, but that’s not their basic functionality.
If you want to learn how to configure social sharing buttons, this might be a good place to start:
