okay, now another question. I have this long password that was assigned to me by the system when I signed up for the forum. so I went up to mystudiopress thinking to fill in my account info and change the password, but it will not let me log in. it says my email address is invalid, though I can log into the forum just fine AND the system is sending the updates to this thread to my email properly. What gives with that? am I jinxed or something??? 🙂

Homes for Sale in Las VegasDecember 10, 2013 at 1:18 pm #78102SummerMemberThe account for my.studiopress.com is different for the one here. When you're logged into the forum, click on your avatar to get to where you can update your forum profile.
If you need to access any Genesis themes you've purchased, that would be the email associated with the my.studiopress.com account.

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkDecember 10, 2013 at 1:32 pm #78108VegasAgentMemberSummer, you are the BEST! I just recommended you on my Google+ page. Wish you were here in Vegas. I am going to be looking for someone full time to take over the SEO, social media marketing and blogging for my sites, but I need someone local that knows the real estate market. Any idea on how to find someone of quality that knows what they are doing? My main site is not in Word Press, it is on a real estate platform. And then I have another 25 sites or so in WP. I need someone willing to work on a small base salary plus bonuses for performance. (I want them to be invested in the sites' success!) But I definitely want to make it worth their while too.

Homes for Sale in Las VegasDecember 10, 2013 at 2:06 pm #78114SummerMemberThanks! Funny, I just did a basic real estate site install and setup for a friend in the San Jose area.
I'm only just learning the ins and outs of SEO myself. Silly me, thinking all these years that just producing awesome content would be enough to make Google happy... turns out that our sites were amongst those rare ones that were doing every single thing right, but we got mugged by Panda updates anyway, a little over 2 years worth of dings.
Had no idea that was the cause of our traffic dropoff in a couple places, still figuring out all sorts of things about that, so now I'm playing catch-up the hard way while still doing the usual legwork of finding clients who have projects to work on. Fun fun!
No idea what secret speakeasy the SEO experts hang out in, but I know they don't come cheap.
Next up, learning the new Joomla for a potential new client 🙂

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkDecember 10, 2013 at 2:15 pm #78120VegasAgentMemberI dominated the SERPS up until April 2012 for all the major terms in my market. I came up first for almost everything for eight years straight. I am a self taught geek/Realtor. Did my original sites all in Front Page (still have two in Front Page that I need to redo into WP, just no time to get it done.)
Still on the first page of Google at #4 for Las Vegas real estate" but it is a constant struggle to stay there. The competition from the big box sites (Trulia, Zillow, etc.) is tough. Had a guy that set up a "template" for my little WP community sites and learned to build those out as well. But now I have too much on my plate on top of managing my team of agents. Tried to use a guy out of South Carolina, but he disappeared on me without completing the project. And I paid him $11k up front. Probably never get that back. 🙁 That's why I want someone local that works exclusively for me.

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkDecember 10, 2013 at 4:58 pm #78184VegasAgentMemberMine are pretty simple sites - have to be for this old brain to be able to pick it up. 🙂 I looked at some of your other designs and they are lovely (I like the zombie one!) There is quite a bit of money in designing real estate web sites (lots of new agents getting into the business all the time around the country) so you may want to think about creating a nifty new design for Realtors and figure out the best IDX to incorporate and start marketing it.

Homes for Sale in Las VegasDecember 10, 2013 at 5:23 pm #78190AnitaKeymasterI just did a responsive Agentpress site here using Metro - demo3.cre8tivediva.com. This is the non-HTML5 version. I have the HTML5 version but I am not quite done with it yet. I will have them over on my site by the end of the week.

December 10, 2013 at 7:31 pm #78215SummerMemberDiann, putting together a child theme is next on my list. I've been making mods to a couple plugins, so a full theme seems to be the next logical step for a code tinkerer 🙂
Anita, let me know when they're done and available for folks to download and/or purchase... I'm always looking for more Genesis themes to add to Genesis Themes Guide!

December 19, 2013 at 1:37 pm #80290AnitaKeymasterDiann did you resolve your issue? Are you able to get in?
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
December 19, 2013 at 1:40 pm #80291VegasAgentMemberYes, thanks for asking! My web host ended up reinstalling the site from an earlier version. They think it actually had something to do with a server glitch. Nice to know it wasn't a hack and that I also didn't mess it up from my end! 🙂
