I am going around in circles trying to get the social icons on the right hand side of the main menu on my site
http://www.roger-the-magician.co.uk
However I am confused about if to use a widget, custom code, filters?
Can anyone explain this in simple terms as I am sure it can’t be that difficult.
Thanks
Roger

Thanks
Roger
February 24, 2013 at 6:35 pm #22613The demo only has the Twitter. I gather you want others.
I have tested that code from Brians tutorial and it does add the icons to the right hand side in the nav menu.
I’m i missing something?
You could also modify that code which i think is the only way to do it unless you use sprites bit its still very similiar.

#header ul li.social-facebook,
Roger
February 25, 2013 at 6:19 am #22672Yes because that tutorial refers to creating social icons using a custom menu in the header right widget area.
You want the main nav menu.
Here’s another way to do it.

This site http://amiechilson.com/ has done it without having letter beside each icon?
I think this has been done with filters?

Brad Dalton @ WP Sites – Click Here to Get Genesis Child Theme Tips Delivered.February 25, 2013 at 7:46 am #22687OK! I think we are nearly there – I’ve got the youtube icon up.
Am I able to centre it and make them float right?
My problem was I was trying to create a second custom menu and then did not know what to do with it!
Thanks for your help
Roger
