I have had this problem for some time now, and it's a bit annoying cause the front page of the site looks like a junkyard of words.
I use the Delicious theme, and use featured post in the Home Left, and when using excerpt or content limit, all formatting is gone.
In the footer i use featured page, _no_ use of excerpt or content limit, but still all formatting is lost.
I use Genesis 2.0.1, i use the build-in Genesis show featured post and page widget.
I was told by adding this code here https://gist.github.com/braddalton/5995879#file-custom-genesis-content-limit-html-allowed-tags-php it would sort out my problems, but it didn't.
How can i get the formatting back, or how can i not loose it in the first place ?
All the best
You are using the Excerpt function which strips out all formatting and HTML coding. Follow Brad's instructions here - http://wpsites.net/wordpress-tips/add-back-html-tags-stripped-from-content-limit-excerpts-in-wordpress/. This should help.
Thanks for your reply anitac
But as i wrote, i can't get Brad's code to work, it does not give me back my formatting.
What i think is, that it has to do with the widget that holds the featured post or page, cause as i also wrote, the pages showed at the bottom, aren't excerpts, and still all formatting is stripped ?
When I saw the link to the Gist, I didn't realize that it was the same code as on his website.
Can someone please try to explain to me what is going on here, and why putting in that code doesn't work ?
So now i'm stuck again, like the last two times i asked this question.
Isn't there anyone who has an idea about what's going on, and what i can do to get my formatting back ?
