Hello,
I currently have a 3 domains in one hosting account. I have all my sites built on WordPress.
If I purchase Genesis will it effect my other site? Will they continue to run like normal?
April 13, 2013 at 6:24 pm #35294AnitaKeymasterI am not quite sure what you are asking about. Genesis is a framework. Are you planning on editing/modifying one of the three accounts or setting up something new?

April 13, 2013 at 6:33 pm #35298SammysofaMemberOn the 3 sites one is a business and I want to leave that one alone. I'm afraid if I load this it might effect that site.
Then I want to use it on the other 2 sites that have no content yet.
The other question is can I use it on more then one domain?
April 13, 2013 at 6:35 pm #35300AnitaKeymasterThe Genesis Framework works with child themes. Unless you decided to change the one business over to one of the child themes - you would not install Genesis under that business websites.
For the other two websites, you would install the Genesis Framework first and then select a child theme for the websites.
Yes, you can use the framework and child themes you purchase on as many websites as you like.

April 13, 2013 at 6:38 pm #35301SammysofaMemberThanks so far this is looking good.
So if I purchase the theme "Pretty Theme". How much can I change this theme?
So when I purchase this I get the framework with it for $79. Does this mean I can then create my own themes?
Can I load the framework on as many domains as I want?
April 13, 2013 at 6:40 pm #35302AnitaKeymasterYes, you can load the framework as many times as you want on as many domains as you want. You can create your own child themes to go with it. You can customize the Pretty Young Thing theme as much as you want - it's yours. Do what you want with it.

April 13, 2013 at 7:32 pm #35311SammysofaMemberThank you so much for your help.
For a newbie like myself is it easy to learn? Do they have goo support documents to learn from?
April 13, 2013 at 7:48 pm #35314AnitaKeymasterYes, there are several things you should look for. When you make your purchase you will need to go to - my.studiopress.com, then to your downloads. Next to your child theme is "Get Started" which will help guide you through setting up your theme. If you need to learn more about the framework, go here - http://www.studiopress.com/news/genesis-for-beginners.htm and download the free eBook.

April 14, 2013 at 7:17 pm #35496Rahn and DiannaMemberHi,
I'm a bit new here (this actually being my first post to this forum), but I've been so impressed with Genesis that I wanted to chime in. I've been blogging since 2007, and never had any interest in purchasing a theme. When my wife started her blog, she wanted more from a theme than we could find in a free one.
After trying one of the much more expensive alternatives, and spending 3 weeks banging our heads against the wall, we decided to try Genesis out.
We were able to get the main site almost the way we wanted it in under a half hour. There's been some minor tweaking since then, but out of the box, we got everything we wanted for the particular theme we bought for that site.
I had a couple questions, and emailed support, and got very specific answers (with detailed steps of what to do). That gave me the confidence that the company stands by their product.
We've since purchased a couple more themes (they are cheaper after you purchase Genesis), and I'm going through all of our sites updating them.
Like you, I currently have 5 sites (different domains) hosted under one account. Installing a theme on the different domains doesn't affect the others. They are completely independent of each other. (Of course, I realize you may have your domain setup differently than I do.)
Hope that helps and good luck.
