For the first time since I bought Genesis half a week ago, I am reasonably happy with how the website looks (at least so far as the front page and single posts are concerned).

Here it is: The Russian Spectrum

Would appreciate any comments, constructive criticisms, etc.

I am thinking of getting a slider, but probably not now but when the volume of new translations picks up such that highlighting the most important new ones becomes necessary. I did try the free StudioPress responsive slider, but was not very happy with it; there are quite a few bugs. Besides, the 300px square featured images I’m using don’t go very well with sliders where the image is supposed to be bigger and take up its entire length. This slider looks like it will fit in well with the rest of the site.

Otherwise, from now on, design will be taking a backseat to generating new content and seeking funding.

Nice site! My only comment would be that the text looks a little small (maybe it’s the same size as the demo, and I just haven’t looked at the demo in a while) – more and more newer sites have larger fonts, making it easier on the older eyes (such as mine).

    Otherwise, nice job.

    Thanks for the feedback Susan!

Isn’t it possible to increase font size via simple zoom with most browsers? Anyway, I’ll think of making the font a big bigger (yes, it’s unchanged from the default News).

Looks pretty good.  The header would probably look better if it wasn’t the green solid bar – or if the background was customized around it.

    Big project though, good luck.

If you aren’t having fun you are doing it wrong
