hi all, this is going to be such a simple question I am glad you cant see my face blushing in embarrasment.
OK my wordpress site, I look at all the themes and get over whelmed by them. The thing is, if I am starting from scratch is it possible only to have 3 or 4 articles to go live, or do you guys recommend creating say 20 articles to use up all the various menu options etc - ie in the theme demos you have sample , layouts, templates etc all with menu items. Or is there a way I can start from something small and build up?
Told you it was simple!

It really depends on what you are using your site for. A blog may have different needs than an e-commerce site.
For a blog, you want to have the basic pages set up - for example, the blog page, an "about" page, and a contact page.
I have seen a number of recommendations that suggest having 10 blog posts written, and ready to publish - this way, you'll start your blog off with one post, but be ready to post your next 10, hopefully to keep your momentum going.
Good luck!
August 21, 2014 at 5:54 pm #120366RobGMemberI think you can start with as many articles as you like, As long as you posting on a regular basis you should ok and you will build up your post quickly
To speed up the process please post the link to the website in question.

Good input.
I think perhaps I am trying to create too much..The site will be based on my reflections on how I see a Christian walk, so will definitely have a blog, my reflections, articles from other peoples sites that I think have an important message, quotes and bible quotes by topic, stories, inspirational thoughts, humour etc. I think I really need to sit down and think this one through. I guess what I did not want to start off with was lots of links to "In progress/ Being built" type of comments. I do have some materials that i put together on a site a few years back that I have not developed for a few years http://www.conquerthatmountain.com. Was my first attempt just need to make it better on my first WordPress site!!
By the way, has anyone used any widget that I can use for quotes?

August 22, 2014 at 8:12 am #120470k4kazMemberThank you Kellylise. My fault was not clear enough. I was hoping to see if there was a way of displaying qotations. This can either be by entering phrases eg http://thinkexist.com/search/searchQuotation.asp?search=hope of if that fails I guess i could do somethng like this http://www.quotegarden.com/
thanks
